It made a really nice change to be able to write my answers to the questions , rather than ticking 1 to 10 or similar often with no means of explaining myself.

Oh I might have another look then. Though I feel Glucose Monitors for Type 2 in general is more in need.

Yes I have abandoned it for that reason.

Hang on - surely the question 'How do you treat and manage your diabetes' with an area to type freehand in, gives you the opportunity to say all that?

eg I'm prescribed X and I self fund Y (since the NHS won't) and I am doing this because it helps me to do Z and demonstrates the effectivity of my investment when my HbA1c tests are done.

I don't class it as treatment , to me it is monitoring. As they seem to want to know about tech, they should have asked a separate question.

No - it is 'management'.

Monitoring is part of anyone's management of their blood glucose, if they are diabetic of any hue colour and shape.

DUK are simply using a questionnaire they already have, whereas you think they should have gone to the trouble of re-inventing the wheel every time they want to focus on a specific aspect of diabetes.

They'd never ever get further than the committee stage.

We have lots of T2s here who find fingerstick monitoring a really important part their self management strategy - but many GP surgeries refuse test strips unless you are on hypoglycaemic meds.
