I have only recently decided to have the Libre app on my Phone. My current sensor expires tomorrow but I am getting a notice on my phone nearly hour giving me warning ⚠️, I am able to turn it off?

Don't think so, I use a Samsung and the sensor running out starts at 3 days warning and gets more frequent the closer it is, I just clear the notification and carry on xx

I have a Samsung too! It is the frequency today that is annoying me. Do you find it effects your battery?

On Android you can turn it off if you prefer. (I wondered why I wasn't getting any and it turns out I have them turned off.)

It's a system setting: System settings -> Apps & notifications -> LibreLink -> Notifications -> Sensor Status

The precise location of the setting varies between Android phones, versions, phase of the moon. But it's a system setting rather than one in the app.

(I assume that's it, anyway. It's the only one I have turned off and I'm not seeing any notifications for my sensor running out (which it does this evening).)

@Bruce Stephens fantastic, thank you! I'll go switch it off now

@grovesy I can't say I've noticed it effecting my battery, mines runs out quite quick because I use the internet for FB messenger a lot or whatsapp so feels like I'm constantly charging it anyway, needs a proper mains charge at some point though as I'm guilty of using the laptop to charge it a lot xx

Ta I don't do Facebook messenger on my phone, and don't use WhatsApp much.

I only use whatsapp as I'm in a Type 1 group on there and use it to send my dad pictures as internet is including in my monthly allowance whereas picture messages aren't, I also use Snapchat to keep in touch with 1 friend xx

@grovesy it should just be a case of sliding the thing to the left on the 3rd picture (sorry I uploaded pics, I know your not stupid, just might help others) xx

On my phone, pixel 3 android 11, I just ignore the first and from then on, although the remaining time changes, the notification is silent. Best of both worlds. No sound but a constant reminder in case you need it.

I've only been using Libre for 3 weeks, and swapped the first one after a week as I had a CT scan, so just finished the first one full-term. The regular 'pings' were annoying, but I switched the sounds off in the phone settings, leaving just the message notification. This is useful, especially when working out when to plan starting the new sensor.

Can't you get the App to make a different tune so you know you can ignore it, whereas because whatever else is set to alert you audibly on the phone sings a different tune you'll know which one it is?

I know ours obviously sound when they ring, but different ones when it's a text, and there's a bit in 'settings' where you can choose between them - hence my phone makes different ones to Pete's even though they're exactly the same phones both supplied at exactly the same time and under the same contract.

Hi Jenny, I generally look at the new events etc. on the top bar several times a day (messages from various Whatsapp groups and friends among others). Not bothered by the sensor 'pop-ups', each of which overwrites the previous one, and is quite useful in the final few hours to judge when to plan to change it. The 'ping' (or whatever sound you get) at increasingly frequent intervals, though, rapidly became annoying , so I went into phone settings to switch off sounds for the app but leaving the notifications coming in. Solution works for me, but maybe not for everyone 🙂
