Hi,
Since I don’t cook at home, could you please share some tips about which supermarket food is good for type 2.I am taking insulin 24 unit in the morning and 12 unit in the evening and metformin. My glucose is still not in control so please share the tips regarding which food to eat in lunch and dinner .

Welcome to the forum
If you could give a bit more information about what insulin you are taking as that may make a difference as to what food would be suitable. Also how long have you been diagnosed and what is your HbA1C. I assume you have a means of monitoring your blood glucose at home.
You may be better asking for a basal and bolus insulin regime as that would mean you can match the bolus insulin dose with the carbs in your meals.
Hopefully good nutritional information is given on the pre-prepared meals including the carbohydrate content.
What information about the amount of carbs you should be having have you been given by your diabetic nurse

Thanks for your swift response.I am taking humulin M3.I have been diagnosed since 2 years now .My reading is 8mmol in the morning and 10mmol before dinner.I had some information but not about diabetes food from the nurse just she told me to reduce rice and eat plenty vegetables.Could you please share in this matter.Mine was controlled for one year with metformin and before insulin my hb1c was 100.

Hopefully some of the folk who use that insulin will be able to give you some advice but many people do develop the skills to cook at home rather than have pre-prepared foods though obviously there will be some which are very suitable.
Did your nurse give you any guidance about how much carbohydrate you should have at each meal as that would guide you as to what might be suitable meals.

Thanks for your reply,She didn't told me only told me to reduce white rice and divide plate into 4 parts and eat one part rice and rest 3 parts vegetables but my hba1c is still 91.So Please support me on what type of canned foods we can buy from super market if we are not cooking. So no added sugar biscuits with sweeter is good to eat or not.I am funding difficult to control my glucose but now controlling carbs.

Sugarfree things like biscuits are not low carbohydrate and contain artificial sweeteners which can give some people stomach issues.
Am I right in thinking you are vegetarian as you don't mention the advice suggested meat or fish ?
Do you do any cooking, like boiling eggs or making omelettes.

As you are on insulin then you need to check with your diabetic nurse how much carbohydrate you should or can have as this is going to depend on the type of insulin and the dose you are having.
Everybody is different and what suits them will be very individual so it is hard for somebody on a forum like this to say what you can and can't have but those familiar with the insulin you take may make some suggestions if you give a bit more information about your doses and timings and your diagnosis.
I assume you are monitoring your blood glucose levels so what do those look like.

It is difficult to pick out what is suitable, food wise, as what might be suitable for someone Type 1 so on insulin and what might be suitable if Type 2 on insulin may be very different and different again from somebody Type 2 on oral medication only or dietary managed.
It does seem to be people in your situation struggle with as they often have a less flexible insulin regime certainly early on when starting insulin.

I'm sorry I can't be more help hopefully some others might.

Sorry for late response and thanks for your kind suggestion so I will ask diabetic nurse regarding how much calories do I need to take since my glucose is still not controlled and I am taking metformin(2tumes) and sitagliptin(once) as well as humulin m3 insulin.I hope I will get my glucose controlled.

What you should be asking is how much carbohydrate (not calories) you should have to match your medication.
You will have a certain amount of insulin so that dose will only cope with a particular amount of CARBOHYDRATE.

@Susairamana For a Type 2 diabetic the usual advice is to reduce carbohydrates (starches as well as sugars). But you are taking a fixed dose of insulin which is meant to cope with the amount of carbohydrates that you are CURRENTLY eating. Thus it can be dangerous to reduce your carbohydrate intake too much since the insulin dose has to match the carbs.

Low carb foods are meat, fish, eggs, hard cheese, dairy , above ground veg. most tree nuts, most seed and berries.
High carb food are Breakfast cereals, rice, bread, grains, tropical fruit, fruit juices (even apple juice), anything with added sugars.

I am very thankful for your advice so I will ask the diabetes nurse about how much carbs I can take according to my insulin regimen and I will follow your advice .
