If I fancy the occasional flat white or cappuccino is it best to have cows milk or soya/oat ? No idea about carbs as I very rarely have milk

Soya milk if unsweetened is about 1g carb per 150ml, 4g per 150ml if sweetened compared to cows milk at 7g car, I think oat milk is much higher as it is made from oats which are high carb.
How many carbs many depend on if you make yourself or have in a cafe.
We have a Dolce Gusto machine and the flat white or cafe au lait is not bad for carbs.

I accidentally had a cappuccino from Pret during my lunchtime walk last week and it was 12g of carbs - I saw no rise in BG. It's an occasional treat as I don't want to get into carb creep, but I've also had one from Cafe Nero with no problem. (I'm generally walking around when I have one, so I'm not sure if that might help reduce the effects of carbs.)

At home I generally make an espresso and then froth some almond milk (Sugar free).

Soy milk for me: about the same protein with the same taste & texture as full-fat cow's milk (if you get the right brand), but minimal saturated fat, the main reason why I switched.

Oat milk and almond milk don't have the same protein amounts or quality. Plus they are blechhh - YMMV 🙂

Don't care much about the carbs, but the soy milk I use has a bit less than cow's milk.

Almond milk is definitely an acquired taste! I don't mind it, but it does lack the taste of almonds!
