ok so went to see the nurse after two weeks of Lantus bloods haven’t gone down as much as she wanted soooooo I’m now on nova rapid before each meal 10 units each meal and now I have my 40 units of Lantus at night time she said what ever time so I’m thinking I’ll have rapid at 5 just before meal then Lantus at 8 sooooo I’m now a pin cushion lol also in 2 weeks I’ve lost 10lbs whoop

Hi. I use both the stomach and thighs to inject to vary the injection site. Note that you need to ask the nurse shortly about carb-counting. This is when you vary the Novrapid amount to suit the number of carbs in the meal. It gives the best control and reduces the risk of hypos.

Don’t eat a lot of carbs as I have IBS but at the mo it’s a matter of tweaking but nurse wants me to not do anything just inject what she wants at the mo . Ooo thigh is that painful

Is that where you injected Lantus? I believe it’s known for stinging.

Yes that’s 1460 jabs per year. For a bit of fun I put 20p per injection in an old gallon whiskey bottle. Roughly a quid a day . Only just started so looking forward to filling the bottle. Make sure you rotate your injection sites.

I use tummy, arms, thigh and my butt. Only do you're own butt if you can reach it easily, otherwise you need someone else to do it ha!

Lol lol no way is the butt going to get Jabed lol um I do one day one side one day the other then reverse ect but I am thinking of the thing h just need to be brave lol

I just rotate round the abdomen and right thigh. Doesn’t hurt anywhere now that I’ve stopped using Lantus. As Lin says, it can sting on occasion.

Don’t worry, Bahallathegreat, it’ll soon be second nature, but it takes a wee while to get in the swing of it.🙂
