This is a silly one but just thought I'd share anyway. Shopping in my local tesco for some unsalted cashews (being the good boy that I am...) and thought I'd check for carb content on them only to discover that Tesco own brand cashew nuts appear to have different carb content depending on whether I buy the small pack or the big pack... Go figure

Maybe it's an elaborate ploy to convince us to go for the bigger packs because of lower carb per 100g 😉

Fun isn't it! When I went reduced carb the first thing I looked at was how carb values were measured (I'm like that). What I found was that the carb levels on packet labels do not have to be measured (because it is technically very difficult) and that an educated guess will do.

I expect that Tesco obtain their cashew nuts from different sources and each source has their own educated guesser and so what you are seeing is the differences of opinion of those two educated guessers.
 
Small amounts of nuts are ‘free’ @Toooldfortype1 so luckily you don’t have to count the carbs. I only really carb count if I’m using a lot of nuts in a recipe, eg nut roast. For snacking, it’s usually ok to ignore the carbs.

And yes, that carb info is weird. Watch out for ready meals too.I’ve found scarily inaccurate counts on those so I now under-estimate the insulin I’ll need just to be safe.
 
The food labels are not supposed to be "deliberately misleading"
Beyond that, anything goes.
No specs, no tolerance's.
