After 5 years without pasta( not a big deal) today for a weird reason I thought I would try it. So took some pasta and made a tuna pasta thing about 20ish carbs. It was ok but nothing amazing unfortunately I forgot to test pre the feast but tested after at the two hour mark. It returned a 6.7. A little experiment but as I don't really miss pasta I probably won't have it again

These days I can eat carbs once in a while, but am always left thinking 'why the fuss?'
I eat tuna with coleslaw and a bit of other salad - whatever is in the fridge, and really enjoy it too.

I did a similar experiment with so called complex carbs after 2 years of not having them at all, of which about the last 18 months was with BG controlled with HBA1c in the normal range. In my case it was whole oat porridge and on another occasion spelt wholegrain pasta. I found in moderate quantity I handled it the first time without having an unduly large spike but if I did it for a second day then I'd get a large spike. I concluded that I've not become complex carb tolerant. These one-off experiments made no impact on my next HBA1c, but I won't be trying them again.
