Aren't I stupid - I might have forgot my Tresiba at 7:30 this morning but I can't remember - I don't want to double dose - what should I do?

Does your blood sugar given you any indication of whether you’ve missed it, or any routines around where you keep needles/pens/etc?

Probably nothing, I assume that Tresiba is your basal insulin so if you forgot if you did it another extra jab might keep you low so you have to watch out for hypos, I’d leave it and just take extra care of my Bolus injections and how my BG is doing all day until you pop your next basal jab in tonight. There will be a wobble in your graph but it won’t be much and everything will right it’s self I’ve a couple of days

I don't know wether to do

There is a pen needle which has been used and one which hasn't been used for tomorrow.

I reduced my Tresiba to 18u yesterday - I don't know wether to do maybe an extra 4u - I really don't want any trips to a & e

Personally I’d just test every couple hours and correct with rapid acting if necessary. If your blood sugars are still fine hours later and there is a used needle it may be that you did take it, so wouldn’t want to double up.

I've injected 6u of Tresiba in case I haven't taken it - I've taken Humalog plus the advised correction for my lunch and I'm keeping a very close eye on levels - I'm also drinking plenty of water but not because I feel thirsty - I can't wait until the morning to take my 18u of Tresiba and I WILL rember this time

The 21.8 on waking was following a chinese last night - a while after the chinese I went hypo so had jelly babies but instead of having 1 digestive I had a naughty kit kat

I wish I'd seen this earlier. I've done this a few times. No problem. If you are not sure if you've taken it (tresiba) or not. All you need to do is wait till the night time to take the tresiba. That way there is sufficient time between doses (says min 8hrs between any two doses) to avoid double dosing but not too much time if you have forgotten it (it's a 48hr insulin).

Keep it going at night time doses for a few nights. Then in a few days time dont take your night time dose, wait till morning and off you go again back to mornings.

So what about the 6u I took before (just incase and so I've got some in me) at about 13:30? I'm on 18u & had to reduce it because of a few recent hypos

Looks like a little DP going on there
You can’t assess whether someone has dawn phenomenon when you don’t know if they’ve eaten earlier in the morning, and they dont think they’ve taken their basal insulin. The increase from 10.1 to 11.7 is more likely because of forgetting tresiba or eating breakfast.

I doubt you would see such a spike by missing the morning basal insulin being the spike started peaking around 6:00am and was well on its way up during the night but hey ho it was an observation not an assessment, I would not asses anyone’s diabetes and I will refrain from writing here what I’m thinking

That line is just a straight line joining the morning and lunchtime tests, it’s not showing the time the blood sugar went up. It’s a screenshot from a blood sugar logging app not a cgm

Here's the results from my Freestyle cgmScreenshot_20210417-175330.jpg

this wouldn't be the cause so early on due to Tresiba being so long acting

Good news - I took my Tresiba this morning 🙂
