Aren't I stupid - I might have forgot my Tresiba at 7:30 this morning but I can't remember - I don't want to double dose - what should I do?
There is a pen needle which has been used and one which hasn't been used for tomorrow.Does your blood sugar given you any indication of whether you’ve missed it, or any routines around where you keep needles/pens/etc?
I wish I'd seen this earlier. I've done this a few times. No problem. If you are not sure if you've taken it (tresiba) or not. All you need to do is wait till the night time to take the tresiba. That way there is sufficient time between doses (says min 8hrs between any two doses) to avoid double dosing but not too much time if you have forgotten it (it's a 48hr insulin).Aren't I stupid - I might have forgot my Tresiba at 7:30 this morning but I can't remember - I don't want to double dose - what should I do?
So what about the 6u I took before (just incase and so I've got some in me) at about 13:30? I'm on 18u & had to reduce it because of a few recent hyposI wish I'd seen this earlier. Keep it going at night time doses for a few nights. Then in a few days time dont take your night time dose, wait till morning and off you go again back to mornings.
Looks like a little DP going on there
You can’t assess whether someone has dawn phenomenon when you don’t know if they’ve eaten earlier in the morning, and they dont think they’ve taken their basal insulin. The increase from 10.1 to 11.7 is more likely because of forgetting tresiba or eating breakfast.Looks like a little DP going on there
I doubt you would see such a spike by missing the morning basal insulin being the spike started peaking around 6:00am and was well on its way up during the night but hey ho it was an observation not an assessment, I would not asses anyone’s diabetes and I will refrain from writing here what I’m thinkingYou can’t assess whether someone has dawn phenomenon when you don’t know if they’ve eaten earlier in the morning, and they dont think they’ve taken their basal insulin. That line is just a straight line joining the morning and lunchtime tests, it’s not showing the time the blood sugar went up. this wouldn't be the cause so early on due to Tresiba being so long actingThe increase from 10.1 to 11.7 is more likely because of forgetting tresiba
Good news - I took my Tresiba this morning 🙂
