Hello, I'm back, and I've been taking All my tablets, but still getting a lot of tired ness is this just something I have to accept being a diabetic.

I'm thinking if your BG is too high then that can make you tired.

Tiredness may be a symptom of high BG, I know that prior to DX I often caught myself falling asleep at my desk (lucky I work from home so only the dogs knew). Without testing it's difficult to gauge what is happening to our bodies.

I test
  • FBG (sets me up for the day)
  • Whenever I'm feeling a little off
  • After meals (now only if I'm trying new stuff)
  • Spot checks every so often (particularly if my routine changes)

Hi rosie, glad to hear you have been taking your tablets 🙂 Might there be some other reason for your tiredness? Are you getting much sleep? Alternatively, are you getting much fresh air and exercise? That can really help you feel a 'good' tired, and help with sleep too (as well as blood sugar levels, so a win-win-win! 🙂) Try to get out for a good walk each day whilst the weather is not too bad 🙂

Hello Rosie, it is very nice to see you again. Were you feeling tired before you ate the grapes or just since?

Now to think of it liberty I was tired last week ,I was in nottingham to see my son, and I was feeling very tired after a long walk, I suppose it's of to the drs again.

If you were tired before the grapes Rosie then I know you don't like pricking your fingers. In fairness it's not my favourite thing in the world either but if you could do it just once or twice per day then you would at least have a little bit of an idea where you are with things.

Will try,

I think technique is the key, be firm & aggressive when pricking your finger, hold the lancet firmly against the finger....It's more "Stab & Jab" rather than "Prick & Draw", no pain that way.....

Thanks for the advice Martin. I think from her post that Rosie is nervous enough without us using words like stab and pain 😉. Rosie dear, please believe me they really do not hurt and the information that they offer you might prove of some long term value when trying you work out why you are feeling so tired

Ok lol I will try to be brave, don't be to hard on Martin I'm sure he ment well , 🙄

Honestly Rosie, it's technique, my BG test just takes a few seconds; I don't even think about it, just do it my FBG test is combined with putting the coffee on, letting the dogs out & my morning, well, you know.... Very shortly it's second nature & by looking at the results you will learn so much about managing your disease that you will wonder how you ever lived without testing.
