I have had those eyedops when I had cataracts removed from both eyes from 2013 to 2016. I had to take them for that long because high eye pressure is exacerbated in narrow chinese eyes. I had right eye done 2013 & after healing. Left eye done 2015, done early because of complications with right eye: covered over completely before I knew what it was & grew very thick in the 2.5 months wait for op. I’m left with permanent ghosting in the right eye but, healed perfectly with no complications in the left.
Yes they are beta blockers & slows your heart down a little bit: how it works to reduce eye pressure. But, the thing to be aware of is that they can mask symtoms of hypos & hypers so, had to test more often. Also, found my hypo & hyper symtoms got a bit confused: hypo symtoms when hyper! So, test if you feel off. Your eye consultant should be aware of your diabetes & the meds you’re taking. But, if not; tell him/her & your rising levels! See your hospital DSN & team if neccesary!
