Some of this was occasional but some, especially the takeaways and fast food , was far too frequently in my tummy .....

Regular visits to greasy spoon cafes for sausage, egg , chips .....always extra toast ....bacon sarnie on white bread ...

Chinese a norm ......fried rice , chips , sweet and sour

Indian takeaway .....chicken Madras or another creamy sauce , chips , rice , nan bread , poppadoms

Kebabs .......sometimes just the meat with chips , cheese on top

Burgers .....either from McDonald's with fries .....or from kebab houses ....again with chips

KFC ......Fried Chicken again with fries

Chip Shop .....2 jumbo sausages , chips , gravy , buttered white roll

If I wasn't eating rubbish made by someone else I would make sausage sarnies , bacon sarnies etc at home

If I was eating at home it was a regular shop run for a pot noodle , 2 large bags of crisps , a steak and kidney pie or pastie , 2 or three mars bars and 2 packs of Maynards wine gums

I also until very recently drank tea and coffee with 2 sugars and 3 or 4 bottles of coke , Fanta etc a week

That's a basic idea of what utter rubbish and dangerous food intake I had and I am therefore very pleased that for me being over concerned with day to day sugar levels is taking a back seat to cutting out all this garbage

I know it's very important for a lot of people to be very strict but simply stopping take away rubbish and now only drinking lightly favoured water is a massive step towards better health

I'm pleased you have seen the light, just cutting out all that 'rubbish' food will be making a huge difference.
Stick with it and you will get there.

I am 17 stone 5 and 6 foot

I personally think that the doctor saying if I can stop the rubbish I have listed I can get to 15 stone by eating sensibly

I thought she was kidding but I am begging to believe I can

Well, I’ve lost 6 stone this year (nearly 7 now) from cutting out all the rubbish and going low carb so it can be done 🙂

My downfalls with food were:

McDonalds
Bread - lots and lots of bread
Pasta and rice - probably for every meal nearly
Chocolate
Hot chocolate drinks
Ice cream

Keep going, the change to your diet will become second nature eventually. If you do fall off the wagon and have a treat day, don’t panic. Just don’t let the treat DAY turn back into a week, a month or a year.

I used to get really fed up and disheartened ever since I was a teenager (long, long time ago) as people would say oh I've lost X lbs by cutting out chocolate, sweets, cakes and biscuits whereas even then I didn't eat those things so I though OK what can I actually cut out. There was no MacDonalds, KFC, etc etc only Fish and Chip shops.
Tried all the diets that were around over the years, Mazel diet, Cambridge diet, Slimming World, Cabbage soup diet, Slimfast, you name it. The only time when I lost weight was being in hospital for three weeks following surgery and a lung infection which I was on antibiotics when I spent the day on the loo until the Low carb approach I adopted since being diagnosed which has been successful. But it has been more difficult since my accident and knee surgery as I haven't been able to do as much walking.

I am certain if I keep at this attack on absolute rubbish I will cut down my blood sugar and my weight

I am basing my diet on keto and accepting from time to time I might slip

I think it's going to work though as the amount of carbs through Chinese fried ride , noodles , chips , crisps , pot noodles , chocolate and other absolute rubbish over at least 10 years was ridiculous
