Just been for a back massage to try to get rid of some of the ouches in my back. I didn't have my usual girl, so was telling the new girl about my new gizmo. I'd had a chocolate brownie before I went out🙂 and my bg when she started was 16.1 😱😱. 45 mins later I checked and the Medtronic had suspended my insulin and my bg was 5.3 and dropping.

Is this a known effect of massage? is it 'cos its a form of exercise? Or what...

I've had massages before, but never thought to observe the effect on bg.

Ive only had a massage once, and that was before I had diabetes. I did notice that my core temperature dropped, though. It was winter, and she'd warned me to bring a coat, but I remember really shivering all the way home.

It probably does count like exercise Susan, it does give your muscles a work-out even though it involves no personal effort.

Hey - wonder if you can get a good massage on the NHS to lower your BG? Be much more popular with all patients than popping pills etc I'm sure!

I have noticed many but did have one once took me about 30 minutues to get up to driving leve. I have a sports massage every 4-5 weeks.

If it does I need to get my daughter round as she is trained in massage.
