I went to the optician today because I've been having problems when reading on my ipad. When it happens it's like trying to read when having a hypo but my BG's have been fine and steady. Each time this has happened it's lasted for a while e.g. 2-3 hours. However my optician seemed more concerned that my pupil or pupils were sluggish. Does anyone know what this may indicate? The optician said that she will write to my eye consultant.

Do you mean dilating, or going smaller again?
Or to focus?
Interesting you noticed particularly with the I pad? Is it when light levels are lower? I'm wondering if it's something to do with the backlit screen.

Oh, being dilated can also affect focus!

Thanks Ralph my eyes weren’t dilated, it was the optician who saw that my pupils were sluggish but she hadn’t dilated them. She didn’t say whether they were dilating or going smaller again.
The vision problem doesn’t seem related to the IPad backlight because the vision problem is coming and going whilst the backlight has stayed the same.

I meant, were they slow to react to changes in light. Sorry, language failure.

Yes they were when she looked at them but I hadn’t noticed it myself.
