I just made this for dinner and it was delicious 🙂 I'm shocked at how much cauliflower mash actually tastes like mashed potato 😱

I used this recipe as a basis: http://elanaspantry.com/paleo-shepherds-pie/

But I used Quorn mince and two pieces of bacon and I used tinned tomatoes.

Excuse the dodgy photos.

I won't be making Sheperds Pie with potato anymore!

Ive use cauliflower mash a few times and it is excellent. Think there are about another 100 ways to use cauliflower including low carb pizza bases lol

Yeah I'm planning on making one of those too 😉 I've got a cauliflower left in the fridge lol.

My mum hates cauliflower with a passion, but she actually ate the shepherd's pie so i'm pretty impressed.

Looks lovely. I can't stand cauliflower cooked though (love it raw) it's the smell, can't get the fork into my mouth without wretching unless it's covered with cheese and then I can't smell it as much. I msh it with sweet pots sometimes and that distracts my nose, any chance the cauliflower odour is destroyed by mashing?

I couldn't smell it. I put cream cheese in the mash and cheddar on top 😉

I don't think I would have noticed it was cauliflower if I hadn't known, you should give it a try 🙂

If you used Quorn mince then it's a cottage pie (or a Cumberland pie, not sure of the exact difference). 😛 It's only a shepherd's pie if made with lamb or mutton. 🙂

Right cheesy mash sounds divine and my love of cheese might well distract my nose. I'll give it a go and see what happens. I like the idea of mash with other veg that have more nutritional value than the spud too so quite excited 🙂
