Anyone had any experience of this??? Does it mess with blood sugars much?? Instructions says monitor closely? Dr changed me from my previous ones as they been found to cause fatty liver but these say can throw blood sugars out??? I really don’t want to take more rapid insulin to keep levels down as it’s put weight on already which adding to my mental health issues.

I took sertraline for a while and was very obviously also using insulin, before during and after. Insulin doesn't make anyone gain weight- what it does make the body do is absorb the nutrients from the food you swallow so if you pile on weight that to me means you are eating more than your body actually truly needs to do well. Just like me. I eat too much - I gain weight.

I reduce how much I eat - I lose weight.

In dropping 9.5 kg (5kg to reach target) my insulin dropped 20%!

Thanks all for replies my DSN told me at start of insulin back in May this year. To expect weight gain as body adjusts….. my body was burning muscle for energy because I was eating low carb and blood sugars up in high 20’s. I guess type 2 is different to how type 1 responds. But these new meds say can effect blood sugar levels

I think sertaline can impact BG similar to hot weather - for some people it increases insulin needs, for others it decreases insulin needs. So keeping an eye is about working out which impact (if any) it has on you.
