Last week at work i was so busy that i decided to buy some sandwiches but the shop at work had not had a delivery that day for sandwiches so i hastily bought a large sausage roll and knew that it was wrong to have that but there was nothing else so i decided to test 2 hours later and to my amazement my BS was 7.8! - i had geared myself up for it going into double figures so don't understand this diabetes at times (well, most of the time). Has anyone else had a good reading with sausage rolls?

I dont want to be the bearer of bad news, but i suspect you may have got a spike later on as pastry is very fatty. If you have this again i would test again at 4 and 6 hours to see what happens.

Also, if you're keeping the exercise up, it may be that you're becoming more insulin sensitive? If that's so, then you could see quite a few lower post meal readings. Fingers crossed eh?

Andy 🙂

I'm very restricted on test strips so only use one a day, maybe 2 at the most.

I understand, but if it is something you really want to find out though i would use the one strip to test post 4 hours. But like Andy says it could be a good indication the reading you got.

Personally if i had pastry i would dual wave with the pump over a very long period I would class pastry like pizza it takes a long time to digest.
