If anyone in your family has a dairy intolerance, and likes things like parsley sauce or onion sauce, it can be made with soya milk.

My basic recipe is 2 table spoons of flour (should be plain but self raising makes a thicker sauce)
3/4 ounce of margarine (I use olive spread, but sun flower spread works too)
half a pint of soya or dairy free milk

melt the margarine. blend in the flour, gradually add the milk and bring to the boil. SImmer until sauce is thickened. For thinner sauce add mor milk, for thicker sauce add more flour.

I alwasy cook my onions before I put them in the sauce as I like soft onions. the onions need to finely diced and fried or given a couple of minutes with a little water in the microwave then drained.
