I saw my GP again today. Although the hip x-ray was fine based upon everything else that she has seen she thinks that I may have a specific form of rheumatoid arthritis that doesn't show up with the rheumatoid factor blood test.. As soon as the lupus test results are back she will be referring me to a rheumatologist. But first she wants to check that it isn't lupus. She said that if the rheumatologist puts me on medications it will take a while for them to work. In other words I mustn't get my hopes up that everything will be ok straightaway. But obviously won't know anything more until the lupus test results and the rheumatologist appointment. I'm glad to say that I think that I've found the strength that I need to deal with this🙂

Just caught up with your posts recently and wanted to send you a (((hug))) from K and me.

Glad this GP seems bit more use and something is being done. It makes steam come out of my ears when I hear stories like yours (and Ks :( ) - why should we have to fight so much to get the right diagnosis and/or treatment?

I feel worse for people that aren't strong enough to fight, but you are - keep on keeping on, and take it easy whilst you are off work and have the chance.

MM Xx

Sounds like progress of a sort, even if it's not going to be very speedy! It's good that this doc is looking into things properly, & that you're feeling more positive. I think you are an amazingly strong person, I do hope you know we're all rooting for you. Xx

Thank you very much MM and Twitchy. i feel like I can now relax now that I haven't got to keep going back to the GP. I so appreciate the support of everyone on this site.

*hugs*

It can make such a difference for your mental state when you know that someone is actually listening to you and that something is actually getting *done*.

I had a juvenile form of rheumatoid arthritis when I was younger (diagnosed before the diabetes actually) that also tested negative fro rheumatoid factor. All the other symptoms fit however, so I was diagnosed and treated as such. I was lucky enough that with treatment and time I grew out of mine, but I still remember what it was like to live with. For me, the treatments made a huge difference, so I hope the same thing happens for you. 🙂

Thank you Randomange🙂
