Has anyone found a way of recycling there Insulin pens , I've got a semglee and Trurapi pen, I really hate the idea of just binning them.
They'll be hundreds in my life time.

I usually recommend the reusable pens as this cuts down on waste and the pens are more robust. However, I do not think either of your insulins are available in cartridges which is a huge shame.

I am not sure if this scheme is still available

Trurapi can be done here.
I think pencycle might only be available for Novonordisk products.
I don’t know about Semglee, which are a different company, I think. Maybe contact them and ask.

I've just discovered I can recycle the Trurapi pen but not the semglee, I've sent off for a sanofi envelope.
So looks like one for the bin one to recycle

Ooo - if your Trurapi is Sanofi, you may be able to use the AllStar Pro reusable pen with cartridges.
On the basis that reuse is better for the environment than recycling is could be worth looking into.

I can't offer any suggestions for the Semglee, unfortunately.

(It makes me annoyed that these manufacturers do not have reusable pens as they much better for multiple reasons.)

Me too. I wish disposable pens weren’t the default option for many prescribers. I only ever had reusable pens. The disposables I had were syringes(!)

So I only discovered (a few months ago) that disposable Insulin pens are actually re-cyclable for me through PenCycle

the big waste I think is

Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) pens
still at least with the way Mounjaro comes (for me) one pen = 4 doses that’s one months supply
whereas previously when I was taking Trulicity it was a single dose pen
so 4 single dose pens PCM in the trash 😱
I’ve checked via Libby website they don’t have any recycling option unfortunately for MJ pens

Use the recycle scheme from the pen manufacturers

Is there one for Semglee? I couldn’t find one, on a quick trawl through Google, nor could anyone else upthread, it seems.
Trurapi is Sanofi and can use their scheme

Thanks all my DN suggested putting the semglee in with the Trurapi recycle bag, so I'll do that and see what happens
