Why does insulin take just those tiny few seconds too long to lower blood glucose which results in rage bolusing?

I know I should be patient but sometimes I just want to teach my blood sugar a lesson and can’t leave it alone! I feel like Basil Fawlty when he thrashes his broken down car with a branch. ‘Don’t say I haven’t warned you! I’ve laid it on the line to you time and time again’ !

I always get the same massive drop of glucose and think next time I’ll be a calm, rational adult. But then.....🙄😱

I swear that sometimes I get a bolus that just doesn’t budge anything, until I rage bolus a second dose, whereupon the first lot gets competitive, and sets about seeing whether it can reduce my blood glucose faster than the new lot I’ve just injected.

I feel all your frustration too! I think all my corrections today are ganging up together to see who’s going to work (or not) first, none of them are making themselves known at the moment, or they’re just sticking a nose out with a teasing here we going and then changing their minds...I imagine after dinner they’re all going to rush together:(.

Last two days “rage snacking”...is that a thing?

What I do want to know is if you’re nibbling round the outside of Jaffa cake, then taking the sponges bit off....then going for the choc and orange bit...isn’t t that how everyone eats them?🙂

Not before but I shall certainly try that next time. A local coach firm which runs up to London daily often has mini ones available. I shall look forward to the new approach next time they have them.

If we're having one of those days of high numbers that just won't budge regardless of how many corrections you do, I bung the basal up by about 40% for a few hours, that usually sorts it out!
