Problems with Dexcom One and Sugarmate

I am prescribed Dexcom One on the NHS for about 18months. At first I was surprised to find the Dexcom One app has nowhere to record food, insulin and exercise, but on this forum I learned that the Sugarmate app links with Dexcom and have used this app to store all my information since. Yesterday Sugarmate stopped receiving glucose readings from the Dexcom One app. Sugarmate say it's because "Dexcom One doesn't work properly with Dexcom's real-time Partner Web API" and there's nothing they can do. I have reached out to Dexcom but wondered if any other Dexcom One users have had a problem with Sugarmate or if there are any other apps which link with Dexcom One. Thanks and Seasons Greetings to all.

I am using Dexcom G7 with Sugarmate and am not seeing any issues. I ran a test just now to log some food using Sugarmate and that seemed to work fine. As a start, I would first kill the Sugarmate app on the mobile phone and restart it. If that doesn't help, reboot the mobile phone itself. I checked various message boards and there does not seem to be a widely-reported issue currently with Sugarmate.
Sorry I can't be of more help.

I’m not sure the one works with either Sugarmate or Follow that’s one of the big downsides of it vs the G6 or G7 so I think you’ve been lucky so far. Have you tried uninstalling Sugarmate, turning your phone off then reinstalling it. That may reset it and it might work. We have had issues occasionally with Sugarmate and sometimes it’s them fiddling with something their end. Keep trying it.

Thank you for your replies. I am trying the Glooko app. I think Sugarmate stopped working because there was a recent major app update and because Dexcom One is very much the “poor man’s G6”. I just wish someone would give a heads up when changes are happening. The shock of having the things you have educated yourself on and become used to suddenly taken away just makes managing type1 unnecessarily harder than it needs to be.

Sorry, I can't help. I'm using G7, but don't use Sugarmate.

Just wanted to add that, if you’re using an Android phone, you might consider using xDrip+ as the main app to connect to your Dexcom sensor. I am considering going that route myself for other reasons, but as yet I don’t have direct experience. For more info see: https://navid200.github.io/xDrip/docs/Dexcom/G7.html

A further update, and in case this information is helpful to anyone. Dexcom called me today. The issue between Dexcom One and Sugarmate is not resolvable, but she mentioned that Dexcom One+ is now available on the NHS, similar in price to Dexcom One and has the events tab in the app to record information, as well as other sharing features. I have downloaded my local ICB policy document on CGM prescribing in adults and it states not only that Dexcom One+ is the same price as Dexcom One, but that users should be upgraded and that primary care can do this, if like me, you have been discharged from secondary care. I have my annual review soon and am going to ask to be switched to Dexcom One+.

That is also my understanding and I know that the One+ is more convenient for installing and replacing. Actually, I was led to believe by a Dexcom rep that the original One was being phased out in UK. The One+ was created specifically to see if Dexcom can break into the Abbott share of lower price CGMs.
