This morning in my usual half-asleep state I accidentally injected 15 units of Humalog into my thigh instead of my Abasaglar 😱 I then injected the Abasaglar into my other thigh. I normally have 12 units of Humalog into my belly area about half an hour later just before my breakfast. So far every thing is OK but when i checked my BG about 2 hours after my breakfast it was 12.3. I hope every thing will be alright  any advise would be greatly received .

Oh Dear! (I am saying that because it sounds like an oops but I have nothing else to add!)

Thanks Lynn. I'm sure i'm not the first to do this and probably not the last, but this is the first time for me.

So - eyeballs wide open first thing in future!

Truth be known I have no idea on the impact of your oops - I really must concentrate more!

We've all done it at some point!
You may find that the Humalog is absorbed more slowly than usual becuase it went into your thigh, this could explain why your levels were high. Watch out later on, in case they come down sharply when it kicks in late, and reflecting the fact that you had 3 more units than usual.

All seems to be OK at the moment my BG was back down to 8.7 at lunch time inspite of a HOBNOB with my coffee, this is about normal for me. I am still trying to get to grips with this new regimen of basal bolus insuin, only been at it for 3 weeks.

Oops indeed! I worry about doing that...
Sounds like you'll be ok though, Humalog peaks around 1.5 - 2 hours after you took it and should be more or less done by now so the worst is over 😉

A fairly simple oops I reckon, and beyond monitoring yourself more carefully today, I shouldn't worry about it. We've all done it, at least I have and survived.
