Hi Guys,

I tend to only have milk as my dairy, so when I make sandwiches, idea is not to have butter. Well after some time I decided to get some sandwich fillers - coronation chicken, coleslaw, chicken and bacon... Anyway I had some ham with coleslaw today. Less than an hour later...came out like soup (diarrhoea)...I was annoyed as it felt like I ate nothing, then just before work. I has a sausage sandwich from cafe (white buns are hopeless - might as well drink water).
I realised that IF I had just put butter on my ham sandwich rather than the coleslaw - I would have felt fuller - multigrain seed bread beats white bread anyway. Rye bread too. All those sandwich fillers to me right now are just in case you have constipation lol.... The old ways are sometimes the best

Many of us use full fat dairy including butter because the fat slows the breakdown of the carbohydrates in bread etc in your digestive system and therefore slows the spike your blood get from them. As you discovered, it also helps you feel full for longer.... same with cheese. better to have a chunk of cheese than a chocolate bar and more satisfying.

Hi,
Lesson learned, but no to cheese! Number 1 cheese hater here lol.
