I use unsweetened almond milk in my coffee, to be honest I couldn't be bother faffing about with milk powder, I only use almond milk as I like the taste it gives my coffee but for the little amount of carbs in dairy milk it wouldn't be worth worrying as your not going to use a lot in a cuppa (well I don't but seems some people do) xx
I just use full fat milk in coffee and I've measured it a few times to check quantity I use and its 2g carbs, I just make sure I have no more than 5 a day keeping it under 10g carbs a day.
Might have pushed 6 mugs one day - what a rebel I am 😉
I would imagine milk powder products would still have carbs - my guess would be more, but only a guess.
I measure out 170ml skimmed milk each morning for 8.2gm carbs. This I stretch out over 6 or 7 mugs of tea, so about 1.2gm per mug. When it's gone it's back to plain water!
Good God Felinia the idea is to live with your diabetes comfortably - not to have to go to such pernickety details. If you only want to consume X carbs from milk - why deliberately opt for the highest carb milk? (skimmed is higher then semi, semi is higher than full fat)

Because my GP and diabetic nurse told me to. I'm managing multiple health issues, not just diabetes, and have been told to follow a very low fat diet to reduce cholesterol (I'm allergic to statins), manage my diverticular disease (fat is a trigger food), and not aggravate my gastritis. I was also told to weigh and measure everything so I knew exactly how many carbs I am putting into my body. My cuppa is one thing I won't stop having, so I make sure it's properly accounted for. I look forward to the day when everything is under control and I won't need to be so rigid.
Thanks - it's been hard trying to follow all the different instructions, cater for all the various ailments and keep the carbs down. Not 100% successful yet, but trying.
