Metalic taste in mouth

I've always had a slightly metallic taste on my tongue first thing in the morning and blamed it on the meds. Metforming, Glicklazine, Loratan and Imdapamide. My sister who has only just been diagnosed as a Type II has also had a slighty metalllic tase in her mouth for many months, even prior to medication. I obviously know about the indicators like excessing peeing but are there any indications that odd tastes could also be an indicator of diabetes? May be it is just some odd hang over from Covid?

The metallic taste is a common side effect of Metformin.

Might be worth chatting with your Dr if you find it unpleasant @Jerrez57

They might suggest tweaking your meds a little?

NHS advice is to see your GP if you have a metallic taste that does not go away or has no obvious cause.
