Hi guys,

I am a Canadian currently living in the UK for the year (well, only the next 6 weeks now!)

I use a Medtronic Enlite cgm, and unfortunately managed to lose the charger for the transmitter while traveling. I will have to purchase a new one, but Medtronic UK is giving me some issues, as my account is technically still set-up with Medtronic Canada.

Since ordering a new charger from them will likely take some time, I was wondering if anyone on here has moved on to a different sensor/cgm, and has a charger they'd like to sell. (It will likely be outdated soon anways, as in my clinic at least they are moving everyone to the newer Guardian cgm.) Or alternatively, if anyone local to London wouldn't mind meeting up for a quick 30 min charge to at least get me through the next 6 days ;o)

Thank you!

Cheers,
Mel

Hi @mackenzm and welcome

Sorry you've mislaid your charger. The charger for the Guardian 3 transmitter is the same as the one for the Enlite transmitter, when I swapped recently my clinic kept my previous charger/transmitter to use with people trialling sensors.

Are there any Facebook/online groups for London pump users you could ask on ? - or could you contact your nearest hospital based diabetes centre and ask if they can help - if they deal with Medtronic pumps then they probably have sensor users too and potentially spare chargers.

Best wishes getting charged up.

Hi @Flower, and thank you for the quick and informative reply!

I actually called my local (central London) diabetes clinic (slash hospital) before posting here, hoping they would have extra chargers lying around for exactly that reason! Espeically as they seem to be trying to switch everyone to Guardian, I figured there might be an Enlite charger I could come in and use for a few minutes, or take home to borrow.

I hadn't actually realized before your post that the chargers for Enlite and Guardian were similar enough that a charger could charge either device. The nurse I spoke to seemed (slightly) confused by my query, but checked with a supervisor, and apparently they do not keep any equipment like that in the clinic - hence posting here! I may call back with the further info you gave me, but I am not holding my breath, given her only suggestion last time was to book me in with the pump clinic (which was a lovely offer, but not at all what I need!)

I will also check out other social media at your suggestion 😱)

Cheers

Well, no luck elsewhere yet. But I have found out that the cost from Medtronic (just for the charger!) is £150. 😱😱:(
