I went to see my Gp today for usual meds I have each month. While I was there I asked her to have a look at quite a large, painful, hard lump on the bottom of my foot, towards toe end. I've only had it a few weeks and I thought it was just hard skin. She took photo's of it and said it was very large and I will need to have it cut out. She said the Dr's have a reference meeting on wednesday and it would be discussed there. As most of you already know, I have an unhealed wound on my tummy, from an operation 16 years ago. It still has to be dressed daily. I am terrified at the thought of my foot being cut open and not healing. I know how we must take care of our feet, and I do look after them. I also have to see diabetes consultant tomorrow and I am sure my hb1/ac will have gone up. All of this is having a bad effect on my depression, I feel so low. I have spent most of afternoon crying. Has anyone else had anything like this on their feet.

I am so sorry to hear this, must be a frightening prospect. I wish you the best of luck with it. X

I don't think she told me what the lump is. However when she said the words that it will have to be cut out, I got all flustered and I didn't pay attention to what she was saying. I just wanted to get out of there.

I am sorry to hear this spirit :( I would try and find out more about what they think it is and what the implications are - things always seem worse when you don't know what is happening. It may be something that is straightforward and commonplace (I hope so). {{{HUGS}}}

Really good luck with this Spiritfree. It might be just an infection that has swollen. But anyway fingers are crossed for a good result when you see boffin 🙂

Perhaps your consultant will be able to give his opinion spirit. I do hope it's something that can be remedied more easily. Best wishes for your hba1c.

Thank you all for your posts. I will see what my Diabetic consultant says. My lovely consultant has retired and I am seeing a new one. I'm not a happy spiritfree tonight.

ooopppssss! As I was saying I attended clinic un tuesday. I was really worried as tne consultant who I usually see has retired. There was no need for the worrying as the new one was really nice and kind. He looked at my foot and agreed with dr that I will have to have the lump cut out. As I thought my hb1/ac was a little higher but he said not to beat myself up about it.

Glad to hear that the new consultant is a good one! It's also good to hear that he agrees about the lump, but isn't worried about you having it done - nice to get that confirmation from someone who really knows what he is talking about 🙂

Sorry to hear that you need this procedure but pleased that you have an understanding consultant. It must be nice to see the same one each time. I often get different ones. Hope I get a different one next time!
