I saw my GP (again!) today as I had to go back regarding my stomach issues but also mentioned to him that my right kidney has been giving me pain every morning for the past week or so. He checked my urine and has sent a sample off to the lab as he said it looks like there could be a problem with my kidney :(. I don't have symptoms of an infection but have had protein in my urine before so this is a bit concerning. GP has stopped the domperidone and rinitidine also as he wants to check how well my kidney function and said these medications can affect it. So now I have just the omeprazole to treat my stomach issues.

Hi Newbs

I am so sorry to hear this. Its not fair that you are having such a horrible time with your health. I hope that the kidney results are fine and that you manage ok without the Domperidone.

Thank you. I must stop going to the GP, he keeps adding things to the list! 🙂 Just hoping my BG doesn't go even higher without the domperidone.

I just called the surgery to get the results of the sample sent off last Friday and my GP has put a note to say 'no further action'. I'm confused as when he did the dip he said the strip changed straight away and that's why he said there was a problem and sent it to the lab.

Perhaps it's one of those things where you need the follow up test to confirm the initial indications? Sounds like good news! 🙂

I think I'd request an explanation in a phone call with the doctor himself?

Yes, I'm thinking I may have to do that. Doesn't make a lot of sense really.

Spoke to my GP this morning - he says that there were white blood cells in my urine but no bacteria. I asked him if this therefore meant that there is a problem with my kidneys as it keeps happening and he said my kidneys are fine. I then asked why the white cells were there and he said that I must have cystitis. He said that I can go back on to my stomach tablets. I don't really understand this, I don't see how I can have cystitis, I don't have any of the symptoms. Still confused.
