Has anyone eaten here?

Once - its inexpensive but it shows in the standard of the fare.

We used to have forum meets in Wetherspoons, because they were very reasonably priced and the carb count was on line, (when a lot of chains weren’t), so everyone could look up what they were going to have beforehand. They also did free refills of coffee at off peak times.

I have a few pubs locally. One is a Wetherspoons.
The food is fairly similar, pretty average "pie and chips" cafe type food,
A bit of garnish or peas. It won't be amazing, but they all have some better options.
I've paid two or three times more for food in some of them though, for the same dish.

Wetherspoons is definitely cheaper overall, a few pints last night, £2.15 a pint.
It is exactly the same beer as is the pub opposite, in fact they brew it, but they sell it for £3.95 on their premises.
(Ironically on the way back from a restaurant nearby, don't ask about the price of a bottle of wine!)

I think Wetherspoons just buy bulk for the chain, stack it up and sell it cheap. Both food and drinks.
Selling it as "a man of the people".
They do have sticky carpets and tables though.

If you put in the name of the actual 'spoons you’re going to, you can look at the menu and nutrition count beforehand. Some of the calorie counts are eye watering, I know from looking at some of them I just couldn’t eat that much, so I avoid them. There’s always a salad, with extras to choose to have with it, which I often go for. There’s smaller pizzas, and pasta with options for toppings, and jackets, all fairly carby but copeable with for Type 1s and not too outfacing.

Really don't mind Wetherspoon, cheap food & drink & quality ain't that bad, do good fry up.

One of nicest JDs is in Edinburgh, old picture house that has been lovingly restored to keep some of old features, called Caley Picture house on Lothian Rd.
