I was reading recently that fructose can play a part in resistance to bodies insulin, causing mitochondria dysfunction, which can lead to more visceral fat being laid around belly. Is there any truth in this ? I'm a T2 but do enjoy fruit. I've not eaten any fruit for the past two days and think I've got withdrawal symptons !

Welcome to the forum, LFALLOWS. It depends entirely on where you read it, to be honest. Sounds daft to me.

I suspect it's more of a problem when it's high-fructose corn syrup in products, rather than a moderate intake of fresh fruit 🙂

Thank you for the replies MikeyB and Northerner. Thats why I posted on here - to see if others had read this.
