I have just tried one of those new innocent veg pots for dinner, looked at the nutritional info and said it was around 26g of carbs so whacked it in the microwave and when i tipped it out onto my plate there was quite alot of rice and bean things so was suspicious of the nutritional info....

And right to do so, went to the website and it actualy has 41g carb!

So anyone buying these beware, check on the site first....although why was it wrong on the packaging?

Sounds dodgy - I would have expected the website to be wrong rather than the packaging as packaging needs to be printed out in a factory whereas the website will just be changing data in a file. Do they have a contact email to report the discrepancy?

Evening nikki, yeah you gotta be careful cos of the c**p labelling from them, always check per portion and per 100 grams etc etc, the government need to be taken to task again about labelling but it just falls on deaf ears, if the so called government cared then they would fine the companies and plough the fines back into the nhs instead of wasting it!!! 😱

Are you sure it was per pot - could it have been per 100g or half pot etc.🙂Bev

Well it said "per pot" so very misleading! how can they get away with that!

Yea there is an email Northey but i dont know what to say iv never done anything like this would u be able to give me a template...?? 🙂

I'm sure you checked but it's not that they're referring to different portion sizes or anything is it? Definately let them know, certainly not something that you'd want to happen but mistakes can be made so good to make them aware. A couple of times I've found incorrect packaging I've always had a grateful response from companies, I even got ?25 vouchers once..!!!

Hmm, I had one of those for lunch last week (half price in Tescos, right?) it was the Thai curry one. I just bolussed for the 26g carbs and it seemed about right - actually just checked and I had a hypo mid afternoon from not splitting the dose for the rice (wasn't sure how to split 2.5U NR!) so I wonder if the website's right or the pot?

Have got the Indian one for lunch one day this week, will see how it goes with a split injection this time!

Ohh well i didnt split my dose....maybe i shud have but we shall see what i am 2 hours after i really dont think 26 is right did u see the amount of rice and beans?

Just found the Thai nutritional info on the website, and it says 25.7g carbs - or am I looking at the wrong one?

Hope you have good levels at 2 hours either way... and yes, email them if they are giving out conflicting information.

There seems to be a difference in all measurements between the two - the calorific values are different. I would send them the links and ask them to clarify.🙂Bev

Got a reply!

Hello Nikki,

Thanks for your e-mail.

We're very sorry for any confusion. We've recently tweaked our veg pot recipes and are still waiting for the GDA information to be updated on the website. I've copied in Tim our web guru and Alex who heads up our veg pot team so they're aware of the problem.

We'd never recommend you use information from a non-innocent source as we have no control over what they list on their website. The nutritional information on the back of any packaging will always be the most up to date and correct information to use.

The Thai nutritional information is correct on our website, it's the GDA info which needs updating. I've popped this info for you below :

GDA per Veg Pot 390g
Energy 12%
Protein 18%
Carbohydrate 11%
Of which Sugars 5%
Fat 12%
Of which Saturates 22%
Fibre 50%
Sodium 29%

Do hope this helps and again, our apologies for any confusion.

Kind regards,

Row
..........

Very pleased i think 🙂 so it was right on the packaging!
