Ok after discovering today that injecting in my belly is no longer working i have decided to go for arms,levemir,bum novorapid,thing is i can do arms but the problem comes when trying to stick the needle in my bum,i had to get steve to do it for me😱 i just could'nt twist far enough, anyone got any tips on how to do this.

I used to inject Lantus into my buttock, but then developed a frozen shoulder which made it very difficult. I gave it up and changed site to my thigh, which I have carried on doing ever since (shoulder now better). I'm not so sure that I'd inject Novorapid into my thigh or buttocks, as I believe that these areas have a slower absorbsion rate? Please, someone correct me if I'm wrong as I'm going back into the mists of time to when I first went onto Insulin, I seem to remember the DSN telling me this.

It might be worth trying a dif length needle this will solve absorption problems.

Other injection sites I have used on MDI are bum, thighs and arms.
Some areas need more insulin than others though so make sure you keep note of the result and where injected so you can perhaps think about adjusting next time.

It's odd because I don't get a good absorption in the stomach even thou the stomach is meant to be the fastest area to inject. I use mainly my arms for novorapid and my bum for lantus, you could use the outer thighs for the levemir.

I would say arms for levemir and bum for novorapid is the wrong way around. You want to inject bolus in an area with less fat than the area you're injecting the basal into so that absorption rates will better match the insulin you're injecting into it. I use my bum for levemir and I don't find it too difficult to do it. You need to use the top part of the buttock (the least painful) and just use the bit closest to where you can twist round, then swap cheeks on a daily basis.

I use the front of my thighs for my levemir only (i keep to the muscular parts only and rotate my legs) - my sister who is a nurse got me doing this and showed me the best places to inject. She told me of for injecting to far down my legs near my knee's. Novorapid goes into my tummy.

My grans nurse inject her Lantus into the top of her arms

I still get confused over terminology

Yes, that's right Di.

Carol never ever injected anywhere else but her thighs. If both insulins were given at the same time, she injected one in her left leg and the other in her right.
