Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
Hi Guys,
I have just got an I phone 4 for my birthday which apps are good for me I am Type 1. Many Thanks
from G xx

DiabetesDiary and Insulin Calculator which works out the amount of insulin you need after you put the carbs in, then sends the result to the Diary. This transformed my life (although I have just got an Accuchek Expert meter which does the same, but all in one.) You can also download the results to a spreadsheet if you like thaat kind of thing (I do!)

Also Carbs & Cals to show pictures of food and give amounts of carbs in them - useful when you're out

I use Glucose Buddy (free), Restaurant Nutrition (free), Easy Dose (free) and Carbs and Cals (?3.99) 🙂

I use Bant (free D diary log book), but Diabetes UK are bringing out their own iPhone app soon as well! I've seen some screen shots and it looks really promising so I'm definitely getting that when it comes out.
I also use the Carbs & Cals app which costs a few pounds but is so incredibly useful and much cheaper than buying the actual book (and it has exactly the same in).
I used to have Insulin Calculator but I have a pump now so I don't need it anymore as my pump does it for me. I used to find it very very useful though once you get your ratios and doses set up on it correctly!

Oh, and happy belated birthday 😉

We are indeed launching our iPhone app soon - pleased to hear people are looking forward to it! We'll have an update on it pretty soon we hope, so I'll pop by with details.

We've had some great help from people on here, Facebook and Twitter too providing feedback and advice, so it should be really helpful for everyone!

Joe.
