I found another new bread...

...while shopping this morning. I stocked up with Burgen at Morrisons but nobody had Hovis Nimble, which I also like. But then in Waitrose I found this new Hovis, 'lower carb, deliciously seeded' for £1.20, so thought I'd give it a go for lunch. A slice is 9.9g, and it's full of different seeds.

Results for a two-slice cheese & salad sandwich: before lunch = 5.5. Two hours later = 6.1. That's ok then 🙂. I might test again in an hour just to check...

Thanks for pointing out this bread Pine Martin. I must have missed other references to it and I am glad to have another option apart from Lidl rolls, which can be a bit chewy, and they just don't fit in my handwoven bap wrap, so some neat slices of bread will work very nicely, especially with that lower carbs.

I'm buying it as often as I can to show my local Tesco that there's demand for it and to keep stocking it. It's quite often sold out tho.

And I can confirm it does make good fried bread. Even the wholemeal!

http://www.lowcarbdiabetic.co.uk/Recipes.htm - I made the flaxseed loaf from this website yesterday. Ground linseeds (I find Aldi cheapest), eggs and a few baking items and it turned out quite well. Like a very dense wholemeal. So if you get on with dense bread like pumpernickel you’d probably like it.

Ours only stocked the wholemeal and seeded. I'm sharing with my housemate, so we're getting the white. Paranoid it'll disappear though.
