Hi I am new to the site - Hello. I wanted to know if anyone else gets numb/tingling face as a sign for hypos? I am a long term type one, but this is bothering me. Thanks

Hi Tee, welcome to the forum 🙂 It's not one of my hypos symptoms but I have heard others mention this. One of my early symptoms is that my peripheral vision starts to flicker!

Hope you enjoy using the forums 🙂

Hi Tee and a warm welcome to the forum I cant directly help with your questions but wanted to say hi nevertheless. Please stick around using the forum x

Hi Tee,

Welcome to the forum 🙂

The response & help you'll get here is fantastic, you've joined the best place!

One of my hypo symptoms apart from others is a numb/tingling sensation almost like pins & needles in my tongue.

I sometimes feel as if I have beads of sweat all across that bit between your top lip and your nose (it has a name that I can't remember!), and a sort of numb/tingly sensation in my mouth.

I don't think there are right or wrong hypo symptoms, I think everyone has their own version of it!

Hi Tee,

I sometimes get this feeling - numb tingling in my mouth/tongue/cheeks. I couldn't tell you under what circumstances I get it and when I don't, but I definitely do experience this sometimes.

Please don't worry.

I have had numbness and tingling before, in fact I think I have quite a wide variety of signals, maybe apart from violence.........

most commonly for me, its just a mild hunger, dizziness and trembling of the hands......🙂

When I was first diagnosed, my symptoms were tingly lips and tongue. This then developed to face. Then became trembling and sweating. Then convulsing. Then just twitching. Now has settled into the nervy, hungry, agitated feeling that many of us know and love.🙄

Whatever you feel is normal for you.🙂

I had the face thing on diagnosis then it went away and I didn't have that partic 'mouth' sympton for about 20 years. Had others. Then it came back. So I have quite a repertoire of symptoms now and I never know what I might get!

Before Xmas it was seeing yellow/black spots (you know like when a flashbulb has gone off too close to you) at levels of 3.8 or 3.9 - ridiculous. That's calmed down again now.

Always likes to surprise us .....

I get the facial numbness / pins and needles when my BS has dropped quickly. If I can sit there for a while thinking I feel low then I don't have these symptoms. Mind you 50% of the time when I test my BS in this latter situation I tend to find my BS is in double figures.

I've only ever had the tingly mouth thing on the way back up. Diabetes is crazy!

I'm the same Mike, often I get the tingly tongue and numbness in my mouth after I have treated a hypo and I will often be 5+ by the time I get the tingling sensation! This has happened as my control has tightened and hence my hypo warning signs have decreased.
