Bit of a random one... I'm tempted to buy a honey based moisturiser as I've heard great things but I'm not sure if this could affect my blood sugars?! Absorption into the skin etc?

Any ideas? (Sorry if it's a really stupid question!)

I have no idea grainger. A sensible thought and if it is of any help, when I was given some cream I checked with GP whether it could effect my Bg but he was sure a cream would have no impact (however I am not sure that he is the best person to rely on for such info) so thanks for asking the question as I shall wait to see what replies you get.

I use a moisturiser with honey and propolis and it doesn't seem to impact my blood sugar so I think it's fine, I also use sugar scrubs without any impact 🙂

I had some lovely manuka honey hand cream once. On measuring my BG one night before bed I was a whopping 17! Nearly had heart failure. It was my hubby who asked if I'd washed my hands properly, I washed them again and all was fine. If I was told honey based moisturizers etc were going to affect my blood glucose I'm throwing in the towel now!

Be assured they wouldn't put Manuka honey dressings on diabetics' leg ulcers and open wounds in hospitals, if they made your BG worse!

The honey on your fingers where you directly take capillary blood sample from could give a high reading same as sugar or a sweet could. Honey on a leg ulcer does not put systemic blood glucose up ie on fingers

Thanks all 🙂 shopping time it is!
