I’ve just read that Diabetics shouldn’t take CaneOasis can anyone tell me why?
ThanksOkay so had a little look and it seems there are 2 possibilities. It’s contains sugar, not sure how much but it’s says online that it should say in the leaflet that comes with it. Also it’s not suitable for people with kidney problems which is common in diabetes. That’s the only thing I can come up with. Hope that helps a little
I have never been advised to limit salt as a diabetic .Please can you give me some informationThe sodium citrate makes your urine less acidic.
As a diabetic, you are advised to limit salt, as that can raise blood pressure.
Also the less acidic urine lets your kidneys remove uric acid more easily.
Diabetics can have some issues with kidneys as well.
Some are on medication, so the general advice is a blanket statement on the over the counter drug, as the manufacturer has to cover everyone.

Those of us on very low carb diets need more salt than those on a carb based diet as very low carb diets do not aid the body in retaining water the way carbs do and so we flush salt out faster when we drink enough liquid to prevent dehydration. I didn't know about cranberries and statins. There are so many fruits and veg that interact with all sorts of meds - it is a minefield. I have a lot more salt in my diet these days since going keto and yet my blood pressure has settled to normal and I no longer need meds for it - previously when I was restricting salt and eating carbs and taking metformin my blood pressure was difficult to control even with blood pressure medicine.I need to add a tiny pinch of salt to my diet most days (sometimes I just forget) as there is nothing in my diet to supply it, and we do need salt.
I did not know that there was a possibility of an interaction between Atorvastatin and cranberries - in the few weeks I was taking the statin I was eating cranberries, I had a quantity of them in the freezer.
How do you treat cystitis? Those of us on very low carb diets need more salt than those on a carb based diet as very low carb diets do not aid the body in retaining water the way carbs do and so we flush salt out faster when we drink enough liquid to prevent dehydration. I have been lucky that restricting carbs seems to have re-set most of my systems thankfully.
A mild case will often clear up on it's own and some over counter meds can help like the one mentioned. If it recurrent or doesn't clear up within a few days then antibiotics are prescribed. How do you treat cystitis?
That's what this post is about?
