Hi anyone can you tell me the best way to remove the glue left by my Miao Miao reader, my skin is sensitive. I will prob use micropore tape in future, but im using the miao miao stickers now, any help please

Hi Sun, welcome to the forum🙂

I thought MiaoMiao boasted that no residue was left with their stickers. Oh well, so much for that theory. You could get it off with cotton wool and surgical spirit, that shouldn’t have any effect on your skin.

For the future, micropore isn’t much use once it gets wet. You can buy MiaoMiao holders, that are on a soft strap that fastens round your arm. OK in winter, but maybe not in short sleeved summer or the beach.

I’ve been looking at the system because I’ve lost hypo awareness. Are the alarms sufficient to wake you?

All the best.🙂

Please don't use surgical spirit - unless you have no other option for removing adhesive - a) it absolutely stinks and b) too much use of it makes your skin hard.

Try a tiddly bit of Vaseline smeared onto the residue - and rub gently - residue will 'clump' into little 'flecks' and can be wiped off with a bit of tissue. Then give it a cursory wash.

As a guitar player, I agree surgical spirit can harden the skin, but it takes weeks of continual use🙂

I have used an oil based eye makeup remover from Boots botanicals range that I happen to have in my bathroom to remove the adhesive left on my arm from the Libre/MM2 but haven’t yet used it on the device.

We found nail polish remover quite good for removing stubborn cannula sticky 🙂

From the horse's mouth -

" What do you use to clean the back of the miaomiao of sticker glue?
There are several way to clean the sticker glue

1. A little dot of baby oil on a tissue, followed by a clean with an alcohol wipe.
2. a make-up remover wipe the oil dissolves the glue.
3. Grape seed oil
4. WD40"

WD40?😱

Edited to add: personally I find an alcohol wipe alone works just fine
