I have got cellulitis in my leg. I've never had this before and only know what I've read online. Doc has given me antibiotics which I hope will shift it in a few days. It's not painful, just very uncomfortable.

Hope you feel better soon. :(

Thanks Lynn.

Hi maryanne29, I have had cellulitis 3 times now. The antibiotics should help, but it does take a few days for the swelling and pain to go away (or it did with me anyway). I wwas advised to take ibuprofen for the pain when I had my most recent case of it. If the redness starts spreading and getting worse go straight back to the Dr or to A&E as the antibiotics may not be working and you may need a stronger dose. Hope it clears up soon. Im so aware of the signs to look out for now as i know that as Ive had it before I am prone to it again!

The antibiotics will help clear it up but if not go back to the doctor. I was advised to put my feet up whenever possible when I had it and if possible raise sheets and blankets at bed time to stop them rubbing your legs. It is a very uncomfortable condition, but it is treatable and will go away

Thanks everyone. I'm putting my feet up when I get in from work which I hope will help. I'll be very glad when it's gone and I can stop hobbling about.

when you have breaks at work try and put your feet up then too if possible, it does help.

I have had Cellulits 3 times as well, each time it was following either a wasp or bee sting, on one occasion the emergency doctor wanted me to go into hospital for intravienous antibiotics but i refused that and they gave me 3 capsules of antibiotic to take 1 a day which cleared it up. Now try and avoid all wasps bees etc.

This is the third day of antibiotics and they seem to be starting to work thank goodness. Should all be cleared up in a few days now. Definitely not a pleasant thing to have.

Glad the pills are working.hope u feel better soon
