Thought I'd buy a nice healthy snack of mixed almonds & cranberries from M&S only to discover that half the almonds are covered in white chocolate and the cranberries are infused with pineapple juice! I had to pick out the chocolate ones. I'll check my BS in 2 hours.

Dried fruit are like little sugar bombs 😱 Why infuse the cranberries with pineapple juice? Wouldn't you want cranberries to taste of, er, cranberries? Very sneaky to cover the almonds in white chocolate! 😱

I know. You can't tell by looking at the packet. We will see what effect the cranberries have had on me later.

Ok, 90 mins later, 8.6. Was 6.1. A spike, but could've been worse.

I avoid dried fruit like the plague!

strangely my earlier pain au raisin didn't cause too much havoc!

I stick to the salted almonds. Delicious little things. Always preferred them to salted peanuts or cashews anyway

I've never tried salted almonds. I'll give them a go.

Nuts, if you visit Lidl they do a huge range of nuts bagged or loose. They are the cheapest nuts Ive seen anywhere. The loose almond nuts are unsalted and very moorish too.

It's funny as I go to Lidl's quite often & I've seen the loose nuts but never bought any.

My favourite nuts are (plain) macadamias -- a bit pricy but worth it. I agree though that the LiDL selection are marvellous (they do good, cheap microwave popcorn as well, though that is probably too high carb)...

I bought pistacio nuts, but not sure if they are ok. The almonds from lidl sre good

I love the salted macadamia nuts from morrisons :D

Just two young choukies lynn

Another vote for salted almonds - they are divine!

AND one of the French chocolatiers do a dark choc bar with roasted almonds. Not available in all supermarkets in France - but I buy 'several' bars at once whenever I see them.

Pistachio nuts are ok but shelling them can be a bit of a struggle sometimes and you throw away 50% of what you bought. I have now stopped buying them from Lidl only buy the almonds loose now.

You are right austin mini.i just drool over them at the shop and walk away cause l wouldnt stop at 1 or 2. In the past i have just bought a wee bag holding a handful-looks really sad
