Just got letter from 1st meeting with DSN
HBA1C 15/08/16 110 mmol/mol
e-GFR 15/08/16 62 ml/min/ 1.73m2
Cholesterol 6.5 mmol/L

Got GP appt next Monday to discuss the results with her and Practice DN .
The letter also said I may benefit from GLP-1 alongside insulin therapy in the longer term. Does anyone know what that means?

I went out for Sunday lunch with my friend and her kids, having great time, love Carvery Sunday lunches as I love my food, was careful and only had 2 small roast spuds, so sat down at the table with was in the corner, and I was very careful not to bring attention to my self when i was testing my blood and getting my insulin dose ready, just about to inject when the people on the table next to ours kicked off big time in loud voices that junkies should not be allowed here and how dare I do that in front of everyone, I was in the corner with my back to them! He storms off loudly proclaiming that he does not want to eat his meal with a Junkie in the room, and comes back with the Manager asking, no, telling the manager to remove me from the premises. bearing in mind I had said several times I am Diabetic. I showed the manager my insulin pen and explained that I need to inject before meals and I refuse to go into toilets to do it. The Manager smiled at me, turned to the man and his wife and asked them to leave the premise as there behaviour was upsetting the rest of the diners. The manager was clapped by the other diners in our section. The Managers wife is Type 1. So thank you Toby Carvery. Has anyone else experienced this type of moronic behaviour with out?

Glucon like peptide. It is injected and helps slow down h the production of glucose. It reduces your appetite, slows the digestion of foods.

Well done Toby Carvery manager. He definately deserves a huge pat on the back.

Yes, three cheers for the manager. I hope the guy complaining has learned his lesson

Well done tha manager. I hope that guy has learned his lesson and has done some research.
I also hope you didn't let that twerp spoil things for you.

Fabulous response from the manager, and great to hear that the other diners approved too 🙂. What a complete tosser that guy was, don't let him upset you.

Good drills by Toby Carvery manager, but sorry that there was an incident at all.
GLP-1 therapy means Glucagon Like Peptide-1 therapy. Examples of GLP-1 injectable medications are exenatide (trade names Byetta/Bydureon), liraglutide (Victoza, Saxenda), lixisenatide (Lyxumia), albiglutide (Tanzeum) and dulaglutide (Trulicity).

Well done Lorrain I hate injecting in public becuase of morons like those you encountered, but we as a family have always enjoyed eating out and mum refuses to let me stop and I refuse to inject in the toilets so have to inject in public, admire you , take care
Jo x

Well done Lorrain for not giving in to idiots like these.....

I wonder if the outcome would have been the same if the Manager did not have a wife who had diabetes.

I would suspect that it's becoming more common as 6% of the UK population are D.... As for actually throwing the guy out.... That's priceless!!!

Probably would have been less dramatic but still the same. Managers in national chains are likely to be quite aware of discrimination legislation (they have to deal with it in their own recruitment practices) so it's unlikely that they would open themselves up to such a legal issue.
