Found this on the Internet

Green tea is one of the best teas for overall health, but it can help to target diabetesspecifically. Drinking green tea will stop your body from producing amylase - the enzyme that breaks down starches and turns them into sugar. As your body produces less amylase, it can only process so much starch at a time.

What are people's thoughts on this , does anyone drink green tea ? And if you do which one would you recommend , thanks

I drink green tea, no for any reason other than I like it, I try what the shop sells and get used to the taste, found some recently which was green tea with nettle and peppermint and ginger, nice 🙂 My folks swear by the loose green tea but I a bag man!

The generic Tetley green tea is nice Sainsbury's sell it.

I suspect that, even if if does have an effect (cinnamon is supposed to have special properties too) it is probably minimal and might actually make carb counting difficult - you wouldn't know how much it was going to help! 😱

Having said that, green tea is supposed to be generally good for you, so no harm in drinking it 🙂 I was actually given some for my birthday by a friend but haven't got round to trying it yet - if it works I'll report back! 🙂

I drink green tea and have cinnamon with my porridge for breakfast.

So I am covered!

Seriously, I find drinking green tea helps me to drink more water without a caffeine hit. I usually go for a mint green tea as well for a better flavour.

Andy 🙂

I drink green tea because I like it and buy my loose green tea with bergamot from 'HighTeas' on the net but recently tried green tea with jasmine tea bags from Aldi and it makes a very nice quick cup of tea.

If it is something you like and enjoy it will benefit you. Green tea is natural so it wont do any harm. I prefer my Earl Grey and use bags because I can't always be bothered to make loose tea properly

Hi RossiMac!

Not seen you around recently - good to see you posting 🙂

Green tea is natural so it wont do any harm.

Careful - I agree that green tea in general is probably harmless BUT apparently it can increase pressure within the eye (putting you at risk of glaucoma), cause osteoporosis and may have an effect on liver function. Although all of this likely to be associated with very high consumption of green tea.

Don't fall into the trap of assuming if something is 'natural', it's harmless. Nightshade, sugar and box jellyfish are all 'natural' but can be very harmful!

I'm with the others, I drink some blends of green tea where I like the taste. The main benefit I can see is that generally it is taken without milk so it's effectively carb-less.

More often I drink Roobibos/Red Tea.
