How do grapes effect peoples BG? Just interested they seem to do hardly anything to my levels? Have a handful of red grapes when feel the need to nibble!!!

Ah, you've discovered we're all different. Just look at all the porridge comments....

So I see, so I see, it's becoming very clear to me very quickly we are all different... finding the forum very helpful though!

I prefer to drink my grapes after fermentation & bottling...... Merlot works best for me

Green ones don't have much of an impact on my sugars, but I'm the same as Mike as far as red and black ones are concerned 🙂

I now avoid grapes as they send my levels soaring.

My MiL described em as little individual bags of sugar, pretending to be good for you cos they are masquerading as fruit!

I still agree with her wholeheartedly but we were both being scientific since we both tested our before and after BGs !

Strange though Mike, they don't seem to touch me??
How soon after eating are you testing? For most people they can give an almost instant spike so I'd try eating some then testing 15 minutes/half an hour afterwards to see what has happened, it can be deceptive if you are OK at 2 hours 😱

I eat black Sable grapes, I have 10/12 with natural Greek yoghurt every morning for breakfast, never had a problem.

John.

I used to love grapes and could eat whole bunches but I leave them alone completely now as they don't like me any more :(
