Hi, just looking for some support from anyone with gallbladder issues. I'm having all the typical symptoms of gallbladder pain but an ultrasound was declared normal. The first operator told me she saw sludge and possibly a small stone but the senior radiologist said it was normal. My symptoms are worsening and I am having to take stronger painkillers and feel so miserable with it. I've been told to try omeprazole for 2 weeks incase it's a stomach ulcer. I am considering going private for a HIDA scan to speed things up as the thought of waiting weeks on the NHS is unbearable. Keen to hear from anyone whose experienced similar. I'm normally so fit and active and seem to have a high pain threshold but this is becoming relentless with daily pain and disturbed sleep. Feel like I have been kicked in the ribs this morning.

I had my gall bladder out about 20 years ago but I never got typical symptoms. Not heard of HIDA scan. Is it possible you have got pancreatitis?

I feel for you. I had my gallbladder removed 8 years ago the pain from the attacks were awful. Hubby could believe I’d had a 10lb3 baby with little fuss but this had me rolling around the floor in tears. My dr at the time didn’t think I could have gallstones so put it down it anxiety for 9 months. I always had an attack after high fat foods or alcohol that’s how I pinned it down to gallbladder and convinced my dr for the scan

As far as I know my pancreas is fine apart from not producing insulin! I just lost my little dog to pancreatitis. My problem is I have symptoms but tests are coming back normal. It's frustrating when you know something isn't right.

It would have been a relief to have it confirmed with a scan. Not good when nobody can say what's causing the pain.

it is really awful when you end up in this situation this happened to me years ago but didn't get a ultrasound of the area and was simply told it was all in my head this in the end nearly cost me my life as in the end it was gall bladder disease had several stones and result of been left so long the organ had gone rotten!

problem with the area of pain is that there are quite a few organs and stuff around the area so it is a case of finding a needle in the haystack, if you suspect something is wrong then stick to your guns and hopefully they will find the root cause.

strange that you have a gall stone and sludge could be the early stages of gall bladder disease and it can go on for quite some time till the final result happens horrendous pain with vomiting, not sure though why with what they found it would be considered normal something to take up with your doctors.
