I don't want to sound like a bit of a fitness and exercise bore but concern about my lack of exercise after diagnosis made me join a gym. For years i played football & rugby so i'm not a stranger to working out but since 'retiring' i haven't done much at all.

Along with my LCHF diet i'm now well under 13 stones for the first time in years, i feel really healthy with far less aches and pains and i actually look forward and get a buzz from the gym sessions. Why didn't i do this earlier!!

Big bonus too! Mrs Ianbilly says she has noticed and is impressed with my fitness and body shape. I'm not doing bodybuilding, just general fitness and exercise but its real boost to my confidence and self esteem.

@ianbilly.
So pleased to hear you are doing well. You don't sound like a fitness & exercise bore at all Ian. Why didn't you do this earlier you ask - who knows? But i guess it was being dx diabetic that gave you a wake up call which changed your way of thinking - and for the better. Good for you for losing weight to a more healthier weight & glad your OH approves of your look new look, lucky lady! Seems like the LCHF diet is for you. Well done & keep up the good work. Can I ask what your bgls?

Hi @wirralass , when I was diagnosed in November 2016, my bgsl was a whopping 115. By January it was down to 72 and my last reading was 54. My DSN wants me below at least 48. I've done it purely by diet change and exercise alone. I was putting so much junk in my body together with little or no exercise, the diagnosis was the proverbial kick up the backside I needed.

After I get in from a run I am buzzing! I'm hyperactive ha! I love it. It's a pure thrill you can't beat. Go you!
