Feeling very fed up waiting for my broken ankle to get better, yes I know that there are a lot off people worse off ,I'm just having a moan ,I'm so use to just going out for a walk to the chip pie I'm 4 week in to this 2 more to go before cast comes off can only do sorta cooking as can't reach hob can anyone tell me how they passed the time if they had a broken ankle:(

I read lots, spent loads of time on the internet and luckily was able to do a bit of work at home. But I was so grumpy because I couldn't just come and go as I wanted - like you. It is so frustrating when you're used to being independent. Oh yes, and I watched a lot of Jeremy Kyle! I know that's rather sad but I love the show.
I feel your pain and frustration. 🙂

Hi Rosie, I also read a lot and watched dvds and daytime TV. I remember then saying at the time that they were going to spruce up daytime TV so it wasn't all antiques, prperty and cookery shows - ten years later it's still exactly that! Can you walk on crutches? I started going for very short, slow walks on my crutches after a few weeks of going stir crazy indoors - found it very tiring though.

Chin up, it will soon be time to take off that cast! 🙂

Awwww......I really feel for you!....if it makes you feel any better I cooked a pizza tonight (pizza express) as it was reduced and all I can say is that it takes 10 mins to cook, and I coked it for 30mins......completely forgot that it was in the oven!!!! douuhh!!!!:D

Hi no I don't have crutches they might give me them when I get rid off this cast I have a lot off stairs up to my house so I'm going no where thanks any way

Hi Rosie.
Like you I hate being stuck indoors. Use it as an excuse to catch up on tv. 🙂

A box set of something interesting to take your mind off it? Or a very addictive game to play. I watched the entire run of 24 when I was pretty much stuck in bed after the DKA, distracted me nicely, and gave me a huge crush on Kiefer Sutherland which was also distracting 🙂

I also crocheted four shawls 🙂

Oh no! Such a shame I found it filled the time nicely, isn't it always the way, when you want it you can't find it 🙄

I was off my feet for 4 months due to a knee injury/ surgery....I feel your pain! You should have at least been given crutches so you can hop. When I'm stuck at home I love to watch DVD box sets of series like true blood, game of thrones, the Tudors, breaking bad, sons of anarchy, black books, father ted, spaced, and films.....there are so many great films out there...you could also do a bit of reading or sort things out around the house you've been meaning to do for ages....some of them might be quite lucrative like filling in your tax returns!or you could make something sew some new cushion covers, paint a picture, knit a scarf, cook up a feast. I used to hop to the kitchen and cook sitting on a stool.

As for the stairs outside....I used to get up and down the stairs on my backside using my good leg for leverage......hopping takes it out of you though. If you do get crutches make sure they're the ones that sit under your arms! The other kind kill your arms.

You could also research going on holiday for when you're feeling better....to give yourself something to look foreword to?

Thanks heather but there are very steep stairs out side my house and maybe I'm not as brave as you as this has scared me a bit ,
