Recently diagnosed with age related macular degeneration. Does having diabetes complicate this condition?

So sorry to hear. That is not good news for you, is it the type that can benefit from treatment?
My late mother outlaw had it and found the help from the Macular Society useful, with lots of aids as her sight deteriorated. https://www.macularsociety.org/
Just seen something on the television which suggests that if it is wet MD then effective treatment is possible but sadly if dry MD then not.
I assume you will be seeing the ophthalmology specialists.
