People advise eggs are good for breakfast as they have no carbs but is everyday excessive? Is there a recommended limit?

have you done them for breakfast? if doing eggs alone you may find you still require insulin as some people find in the absence of carbs they still need to bolus for protein

I have a dozen eggs a week myself, not for breakfast though, that's teas and Sunday dinner
xx

Yes I find that the protein from eggs spikes me unless I have a little carbs with them. I was eating 2 a day almost every day at one point. They may make you a little constipated, but the concern that the cholesterol in eggs was bad for you and they should be limited has been thrown out I believe. My diabetic dietician suggests that 1 unit of Quick Acting insulin for 30g of protein is a tough guideline for dosing for protein if you find that you spike from it.

My dietician suggested lots of eggs, protein and veg.
I also had 2 eggs for lunch and it didn't effect my blood sugar levels (in fact they went down) though i was only diagnosed yesturday so have only had 1 chance to test eggs.

Too many bung me up and the gusts of wind aren't perfumed pleasantly either ! LOL However no protein spikes me, though a lot of folk find that it does, so you'll have to find out for yourself what your personal limit is.

Love eggs, can eat 15 a week over brekkie dinner, have to bolus with or without carbs, tend to get delayed spike with them so use extended bolus on pump.

Eggs! Love 'em.

5 a day
