Hi Everyone,

Has anyone tried this diet and is suitable for diabetics?

Donna 🙂

I have seen it advertised, I think there is a book. Not sure how good it is thoe

Tried it for about 2 weeks - it's a LOT of meat! Not a big fan of meat though, so would say that if you can handle the protein farts... then attempt it!

Hi Donna

I've just found this on the BBC website. Not scientific but a real world critique.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-14020154

Sounds similar to Atkins, Paleo, etc, etc.

Some members go for general low-carbing, which I presume doesn't have a good and bad list of foods but just advises moderation of certain foods.

If you search the forum (particularly the Food section) for low carb, you may find some useful tips.

Rob

Funnily enough I saw the book going cheap in Costco last week and bought it. It's not supposed to be good for diabetics, you start off doing 5 days with nothing but 2-3 ltr of water and meat, no carbs, no veg, no fruit. It then alternates a week of meat and a week of veg or something like that. You certainly shouldn't do it without medical approval and supervision.
