Do you check your blood iron levels as well as your blood sugar

Mine used to get checked on several blood test through out the year, and was normally added to the annual diabetic blood test as I always show up as anemic.

No - never checked since I was diagnosed diabetic and had to stop giving blood, so the last time ever was April 1972! LOL

I spose they may have done it when I had my hysterectomy, they certainly insist on 'typing' your blood before a 'big' op even though I could still show them my original donor card back then.

I'm tested for Anaemia etc regularly due to CKD . I seem to be living on ferrous Fumerate atm.

I'm not aware of my iron levels being checked, unless it's something routine that they never mention at my annual reviews 🙂

My daughter's get checked at her annual review (I know this because a couple of years ago they picked up that she was borderline anaemic and she had to go onto yucky iron replacement medicine for 3 months). Otherwise we don't check it at all.
